NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Fiona Apple- "Every Single Night"

Meet Fiona Apple.

Last Friday, I was on Twitter when I noticed 'Fiona Apple' was one of the top trends worldwide. A bit puzzled, I clicked on the trend and found out that Fiona Apple is a singer from America, but after that I still wasn't 100% convinced on who she was.

So I went onto Youtube and typed in her name, and the first thing that came up was her latest single 'Every Single Night' and I clicked play on the video.

The first image that came up on the video was this (above), and I honestly must say I got slightly disturbed, but as I continued to watch the clip I noticed that despite the weird floating brains, creepy snails covered all over her body and scary voodoo-like Hawaiian dolls, Fiona Apple actually has a beautiful voice and 'Every Single Night' is a song I personally recommend to listen to, although I understand it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Sean Kingston ft. T.I. "Back 2 Life (Live It Up)

It's been a long time since we've heard a track from Sean Kingston, and I'm glad to say that he's back with his third studio album "Back 2 Life", and released the first single off the new album "Back 2 Life (Live It Up)"  which featuers T.I3 days ago, on the 8th of June. The new single is thought to be inspired through Kingston's near-death experience which occurred last May 2011.

The 'Fire Burning' singer has now recovered and is in perfect health and told MTV 'I'm going to the whole Reggae island-pop thing', *yay!*. In his new album, he collaborates with the freshest artists in town, with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Shakira, Wiz Khalifa, Rihanna, Busta Rhymes and many more to come! Definitely an album predicted to be HUGE in the future. (Album is set to be released on July 2012.)

TRACK OF THE WEEK: Mayer Hawthorne -'The Walk' ft. Rizzle Kicks

Last October, Mayer Hawthorne released 'The Walk', but now he's back whilst given the track a little makeover with the help of Brighton Hip-Hop duo Rizzle Kicks. The track still consists of Mayer's combination of slow jams and soulful vibes, with Rizzle Kicks chilled-out but British 'Old Skool' sound, creating the perfect tune making you proud to be from the UK.

In the wacky video, Rizzle Kicks can be seen messing-around in the rain with umbrellas, whilst Mayer Hawthorne being seen doing, well let's just say trying to dance. An amazing, relaxing song, perfect to brighten up a dull, gloomy revision session , or well any time of the day, so go check it out, LIKE NOW! (link below)

NEW MUSIC: Azealia Banks- 'Jumanji'

Azealia Banks - "Jumanji"

American rapper and singer Azealia Banks is back with a fresh new song called 'Jumanji', (released online on the 11th May.) Jumanji?, What's Jumanji?' I bet that's what you're thinking right know after reading the title (maybe it's titled after the 1995 American film 'Jumanji?'), I don't know and to be honest I have no idea what it means, but that's Azealia for you.

In her last track '212' which featured Lazy J, she proved to be quite a talented girl, and received many positive comments from her fans and even bagged up some reviews from critics who complimented Miss Banks' unique rapping style, along with her singing.

But the crazy track 'Jumanji' is completely different than the hit single '212', and has obtained a mixture of comments (I personally love it!), and all I can say is that go and listen to it, because i guarantee it will definitely be a summer HIT. (link below.)

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Swizz Beatz ft. A$AP Rocky "Street Knock"

MY SONG OF THE DAY. With the hot sun shining, there's nothing more relaxing than listening to some Swizz Beatz. With the video out, his newest song 'Street Knock' featuring New York rapper A$AP Rocky, is the first single from his upcoming mixtape 'Limitless'

Watch the Video for the Swizz Beatz/A$AP Rocky/AraabMuzik Collab

In the nutty video, Swizz can be seen whizzing around in a fast car (possibly a Porsche?), while A$AP Rocky boasts about his gold teeth and a sweater which seems to have a Scream face with weed leaf eyes? (well that's what I see!)

With a funky drumline and Allen Iverson appearing in the video with a pair of Reebok's on his feet whilst dribbling a basketball, I have a feeling this song is gonna be BIG in the UK, as well as the USA. A must download. So go and watch it! (link below ^_^).

MARINA & THE DIAMONDS: Primadonna

Marina's newest song from her album 'Electra Heart' is out, and I must say, I think i'm obsessed with it. I just LOVE it, an absolute 10 out of 10.

Photo:

The rebellious brunette turns to a innocent blonde, as Marina shows us her more softer side as she stars in her brand music video 'Primmadonna'. With their album 'Electra Heart' (released on 30th April), Marina And The Diamonds secure their first ever UK Number One album, beating Lana Del Rey's 'Born to Die' and Jack White's 'Blunderbuss' to top spot.

Marina And The Diamonds spoke about the album saying 'It's inspired by Marilyn Monroe, Madonna and Marie Antoinette. [Madonna is] a fearless person. She's been knocked down so many times -for someone to keep going, it shows that they don't want to just have fame and success. They want to be a successful artist.'

In the 'Primadonna' music video, Marina can be seen with a heart-shaped beauty mark, blonde curls, and as described herself the song is about 'being a drama queen', and was inspired through a number of heartbreaks. Hmmm, maybe like Adele this could be the next big thing? I don't doubt it will.

With witty lyrics, the single is an electro-funky pop floorfiller and a must listen. So what you waiting for? Check it out! (Link below.)

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Far East Movement ft. Tyga ‘Dirty Bass'’

The video that everyone on the block has been waiting for is finally here and it surely was worth the wait! My song of the day.

LA-based hip-hop group Far East Movement teamed up with Young Money rapper Tyga to continue to deliver more club music with their brand new song 'Dirty Bass' (uploaded on YouTube on the 10th of May), which I think is going dominate the charts anytime soon.

In the video, the group break out their most biggest and baddest gold chains, party in Hollywood-style with Tyga surrounded by endless speakers on top of speakers, whilst strolling around in an old school limo in FM style. DEFINITELY a song to look out. It's gonna be HUGE.

'Dirty Bass' is from their upcoming album 'Dirty Bass', which is due to be released on the 5th of June , but in the mean time just sit back, relax, and enjoy the video! (link below.)

Nelly's Back!

Hello everyone, hope your all having a good evening, (I'm not, got revision, writing 'thank you' letters to my work experience placement etc.) so I thought I'd have a little break. Logged onto Tumblr, tweeted a little bit, and then popped onto YouTube.Whilst stalking some music videos I found out that Nelly Furtado has been back in the studio making new music, yes it's true!

The Canadian singer has released a new song called 'Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)' which is the first single off her new album 'The Spirit Indestructible', which is set to be released on June 18th, 2012 in the UK and on the 19th if you're living in the USA. Anyway, back to Nelly. If you've been #TeamNellyFurtado since her first ever single 'Whoa, Nelly!' in 2000, you'll be glad to hear her new music video is out, so go now and watch it! (there's a link below ^-^)

Bye for now,

(follow me on twitter at im_salz)

Hello there...

So, as this is my first post i thought why not start it off by introducing myself and tell you about my fave track of the week.

My name's Salma (or Salz for short), am 15 from London and you will probably know me for my love of food and fashion, but mostly music. Yes, i love music, but i don't tend to listen to a certain 'type' of music; i just listen to whatever i like.

So, I was on youtube the other week, (cos i had really had enough of psychology revision) and i was listening to Rihanna's new single Where Have You Been (and i love it!), and i came across L Marshall's new song The Wait Pt. 2 which features Sincere and Sneakbo. I scrolled down to see when it had been released (it had been out since 23rd March) and i was shocked to see that i only discovered it in April (what the...), probably cos i had been on work experience at Live Magazine (which was AWESOME, but that's another story.)

Anyways, all i have to say is that it's a great song and has been my only survival guide for my GCSE revision, so go check it out, like NOW!

Bye for now,

~Salz
